Anita’s 100km Lake District Ultra Challenge in memory of Jess
It’s my birthday and although birthdays are not easy to celebrate without Jess, I’ve chosen to focus on doing something positive today by launching my fundraising challenge in memory of Jess.
Next June I will be taking on the 100km Ultra Challenge walk in the Lake District. This walk is incredibly significant for me as Jess loved this area of the country and it’s where she spent her last holiday exactly 5 years ago. The challenge includes some steep elevations totalling 2.5km of uphills! I know it’s something I’m going to have to train incredibly hard for if I’m to complete it successfully all in one go, walking overnight too. As always, Jess will be my inspiration. You wouldn’t believe that this photo was taken near the top of Aira Force, with Jess having just climbed to the top of the waterfall. Her strength and determination, against all the odds, will be my driving force when training for this challenge.
This challenge is entirely self-funded, with every penny raised going to music therapy for children and young people under the care of Ipswich Hospital and Zest at St. Elizabeth Hospice. Please take a look at my Justgiving page and help me to raise as much money as possible for Jess Grant Celebration. Thank you so much x
